Egg Harbor crash kills two, injures two others
Most people in New Jersey take to the state’s roads and highways expecting that the other motorists they encounter care as much about accident avoidance as they do. While that assumption often proves true, there are those instances where one encounters an out-of-control (and thus, highly dangerous) driver.
The reasons for dangerous driving often differ (from either unanticipated issues to blatant indifference to the safety of others). Yet whatever those reasons may be, the fact that accident victims often experience catastrophic consequences to these drivers’ actions remains.
Multi-car collision in Egg Harbor wreaks havoc
Such consequences surfaced following a multi-car collision in Egg Harbor. Per Nexstar Media, a vehicle traveling on Delilah Road near the Parkway Overpass crossed into oncoming traffic and struck an SUV head-on. A minivan then collided with the SUV following that initial collision. Authorities continue to investigate what caused the driver of the vehicle to lose control. He and his female passenger died in the collision. The drivers of both the SUV and the minivan sustained injuries in the collision that required treatment at local healthcare facilities.
Compensation when the responsible party dies in a crash
While many people may understand the need car accident victims might have in seeking compensation to help cover their accident expenses. Yet in cases such as this (where the party responsible for causing a car accident dies in the collision), many might wonder what the point of legal action may be. The point that such a party cannot provide compensation themselves exists, yet that does not preclude accident victims from pursuing a liability claim. That claim is typically made against a decedent’s estate.
